Nine Inch Nails new 2013 album Hesitation Marks due out in stores September third. Halo twenty eight.

Came Back Haunted

I was pleased and somewhat surprised to hear that Nine Inch Nails’ newest incarnation had confirmed the release of their latest single, Came Back Haunted via the web and radio on Thursday, June 6th 2013. In typical Trent Reznor fashion the single was released early, making it’s debut online Wednesday night. ‘Came Back Haunted’ reveals a definitive nod to earlier Nine Inch Nails material, incorporating the hypnotic synth grooves from Pretty Hate Machine with a dash of Year Zero’s distorted, yet melodic sound-scape.

 Hesitation Marks

In addition to the single, the band announced the release of their newest LP entitled ‘Hesitation Marks’  which is set to hit music stands this fall on September 3, 2013. The Standard edition will include 14-tracks, while the deluxe edition contains three bonus remixes and a 28-page hard cover book.

NIN Tour

If the news of a new album wasn’t enough, Nine Inch Nails has also released a number of dates for their upcoming Tension 2013 tour where Trent states: “Tension picks up where Lights in the Sky left off. This is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before.”  The tour will be accompanied by opening acts Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

I was elated to not only hear the news of an upcoming album but of another North American arena tour. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nine Inch Nails live quite a few times now, the last time being during the Wave Goodbye Tour in 2009. It was bitter sweet to say the least, seeing as I thought my favorite band was about to dissipate into the ether for good. I will definitely be attending the Toronto date on October 4th at the Air Canada Centre so I hope to see some of you there!
