Color Description:

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Collection

  • Pleasure Model – (Pearlescent pink) – This is the perfect pale pink shade for those of you looking for a cool toned highlight. It’s also quite heavenly when paired with a pale pink blush or dabbed lightly on the centre of the lips.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Swatch in Newt

  • Newt – (Pale peach) – All of you pale skinned makeup connoisseurs will go head over heals for this beautiful peachy base. I love to use it on both my cheeks and lips to create the perfect ‘peaches and cream’ complexion.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Collection Swatch in The Shade Icarus

  • Icarus – (True gold) – This particular gold has a wonderful high shine finish and looks wonderful on darker skin tones, especially as a cheek highlight or lip color.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Collection in Shade Mercury

  • Mercury – (True silver) – I often use this shade as an intense base to highlight the inner corner of the eye. It’s fantastic for catching the light, especially in photos.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Collection in Shade Beholder

  • Beholder – (True teal) – This is probably one of my favorites, aside from Newt and Dark Matter. It’s the kind of color that just screams colorful smokey eye and is complementary to just about every skin tone and hair color.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Concentrate Collection Swatch in Shade Dark Matter

  • Dark Matter – (Dark green grey) – This is a lovely solid base for just about any smokey eye. I love that it’s both grey and green, so you can enhance each color depending on the eye shadow used.

What I like:

  • Pigmentation – I think the creme color bases are akin to the lip tars in the sense that they both possess a very opaque formula. What I love most about them is that they can be applied in both a sheer and opaque manner. This lends a lot of versatility to the application process and allows for build-able coverage and endless customization.
  • Consistency – I love cream formulas just for the ease of application. They blend on the skin effortlessly and have a very moisturizing and dewy appearance. If you suffer from dry skin, be sure to invest in creamy products such as these. They’ll add a little glow to your complexion and prevent any dry patches from emerging like some powder products are known to do.
  • Versatility – I think makeup artists will fall in the love with the multi-purpose formula. When you’re preparing for a gig the last thing you want to do is bring multiple products with you. The more compact the better! I like the fact that I could bring most of these colors onto any set and have the convenience of various colors at my fingertips that can literally be applied to almost anywhere on the body.

What I don’t Like:  The one qualm I have with the majority of cream products is their tendency to crease. I have particularly oily eyelids so there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t wear some kind of eye shadow primer. I think the cream color concentrates apply brilliantly, but their creamy consistency can make for some slight creasing. I prefer to use them on my cheeks and lips since they have such great pigmentation and I don’t have to worry about the product moving. However, when I do sport them on my lids, I always make sure to wear a primer as a base and to set the product with an accompanying eye shadow.

Tips for application:

  • Apply a primer all over the lid to prevent creasing.

  • Pat a corresponding eye shadow over top to ensure longevity and minimize creasing.

  • With a dome or angular shaped face brush apply the product to the apples of the cheeks and buff it up towards the hairline for a creamy and youthful cheek color.
  • Using a lip brush apply a moderate amount on the lips for a long lasting wash of color.
